Head Coach
Hey everyone, my name is Sara Wells!
I am originally from Southlake, TX where I graduated from Carroll ISD before attending the University of Arkansas to obtain my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education. I come from a dance background where I danced competitively and did drill team in high school then continued my passion for dance on the University of Arkansas Dance Team. Although dance and cheer might have a few differences in terms of technique and skill, over the years I've learned the importance of the foundation and structure of the team and how it impacts the program as a whole.
A little bit of fun information about me - I love to spend my free time relaxing and doing absolutely nothing (some may call it "rotting"), my favorite drink is Dr. Pepper or literally anything with caffeine, I absolutely love going to the beach, and I am a very non-picky eater, so it is quite impossible for me to choose a favorite food!
I've spent the last 3 years in Keller ISD where I taught 8th grade math and coached middle school cheer for the past 2 years. Now I'm starting my 4th year, and I currently teach Algebra I and coach Varsity Cheer! I have just recently moved to Frisco after marrying a fellow Reedy HS coach/teacher, and I am extremely excited and eager to be here! As a coach, I value that my athletes feel safe, supported, and proud to be part of the program. I hold my athletes to a high standard in the classroom, in cheer, and in society, and I strongly believe that they should hold themselves to a high standard and they know that they represent more than themselves whether they are in uniform or not.
I am excited and honored to be here, and I can't wait to see what the team will accomplish together this year!
Sub-Varsity Coach
Hi, I'm Allison Larrea! This is my second year coaching cheer and my 5th year teaching special education. I was a Frisco ISD alumni (Independence HS) before I graduated and went on to the University of Texas to pursue my Bachelors of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts. My love for performing and the arts started in the world of dance, where I trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, Latin ballroom, and musical theatre, which then slowly led to the world of cheer. Upon graduation from high school, I was blessed to have the opportunity to cheer at the collegiate level, which solidified my appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and the energy that comes from being part of something bigger than yourself. Last year, I decided to go back to school for my graduate program and am proud to now be a graduate of a Masters of Special Education with a specialization in Challenging Behavior.
Fun facts about me are that I love Cherry Coke, or Diet Coke (one of the two will always make me happy) and I help run a theatre company on the side in Garland, so if I'm not at school or cheer, I'm there.
My goal as a teacher and coach is rooted in my own experience as a student. In high school, I had a teacher who was always there for me, someone I could talk to openly and without judgment, and that support deeply shaped who I became. Now, I strive to be that same person for my students by creating a positive and inclusive environment where every athlete feels seen, supported, and safe, both physically and emotionally, so they can grow with confidence, courage, and character.
